Details
Tea Name: Jin Guan Yin
Type: Rock Oolong
Origin: Wuyi Mountains, Fujian Province, China
Year: Spring 2019
Seller: white2tea
Infusions: Steeped for 15 seconds at 100℃. Added 15 seconds for each additional steep. 4 infusions.
Appearance
The dry leaves are black and brown, and they smell fruity, like apricot or dried fruit. The wet leaves are brown and dark green, like seaweed. They have a very strong floral, orchid smell. The liquor is a golden color, like the inside of a peach.

Tasting Notes
First Steep
The flavor is very light. There are notes of nectar, and an aftertaste of honeysuckle. Medium body. Little astringency.
Second Steep
The gentle, subtle notes in the first steep have been replaced with a whole-mouth floral aroma. It’s like jasmine or honeysuckle, with an edge of a sweet note, like fruit or almost candy. The flower-petal aftertaste lingers for a long time.
Third and Fourth Steeps
The flavor is considerably weaker. No new notes appear. It's warm and comforting, but not as exciting as the second steep.
Overall Impressions
Though not very complex, it was tasty. I might experiment with different water temperatures and steep times to try to pull out more of the flower and fruit notes. They were only very noticeable during the second steep, and were invigorating and delicious.
