When people outside of Taiwan think about Taiwanese tea, perhaps High Mountain or Oriental Beauty oolongs come to mind.
However, “Ruby Black Tea,” handmade in Taiwan’s Yuchi Township in Nantou County, is also an exquisite tea. It's familiar yet special to Taiwanese people.
The harvesting process is different from that of black teas, coming instead from traditional oolong manufacturing methods. It has become famous due to its strict production process, and because only the finest, hand-picked one-at-a-time, carefully selected leaves are used.
Thus, as a result of perseverance and hard work, Ruby Black Tea was unveiled in 1999 and, without even being included in global rankings, became highly regarded by a select number of tea lovers.
Distinct from typical teas, its characteristic trait is an aroma of cinnamon and mint. Additionally, you can sense a slight sweetness even without sugar, and its wonderful flavor is satisfying whether hot or iced.
Compared to other black teas, the amount of Ruby Black Tea circulating in the global market is limited, so it is extremely precious.
If you try it once, you’ll undoubtedly become addicted.
